‘Tip-a-Cop’ for Special Olympics

A contingent of Reno Police officers will be waiting tables and seeking “tips” at Applebee’s Grill & Bar at 4805 Kietzke Lane Thursday to help raise funds for the Nevada Special Olympics Program.

The tax-deductible donations for Special Olympics through “Tip-A-Cop” are not meant to replace gratuities for the hard working restaurant servers who will team with the Reno officers during lunch and dinner.

Find out more about this event by following the “Newsroom” link on the City of Reno’s website at www.reno.gov.

Take the free ride!

Reno Police are going to be real hard nosed about drinking and driving during the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations Wednesday.

Free public transportation or having a designated driver are great alternatives to a ride to jail for a DUI.  Police are advising people to take advanage of the free bus rides Wednesday between 6:00 p.m. and midnight offered by the Regional Transportation Commission.  For more information go to the City of Reno’s website at www.reno.gov and follow the “Newsroom” link.
