“Even though it is the holiday season, everyone needs to be aware of the potential for home crime targeting by criminals who take advantage of the holidays to prey on unsuspecting victims,” warns Reno Police Sergeant Matt DellaVella.

“The holiday season is a time when the rush and excitement of the holidays can make you careless or complacement about home security, which can leave you vulnerable to theft and other crime activities,” Della Vella says.

“Always be careful when someone you do not know comes to your door,” he warns.
