Rainbow Trout Tree at Idlewild Pond

Check out this time lapse film of the fish art being installed at a pond in Idlewild Park. Reno artist Eileen Gay worked with contractors to install the art. She received a grant from the Ward 1 Neighborhood Advisory Board, the City of Reno and Capstone Partners to recycle the former “Trout Tree” on Riverside Drive carved by David Roberts and Bill Cook. The tree was diseased and had to come down, so Eileen covered the fish with glass mosaic tiles.
