Do you have items at your home that you would like to throw out? Don’t want to spend money doing it? Well here’s some good news for you!

Waste Management has quarterly free dump weekends (part of their franchise agreement with Washoe County) at the Waste Management Transfer Station on Commercial Row. The next one is THIS weekend, October 3 and 4. This is open to ANY Washoe County resident. Since both Reno and Sparks are in Washoe County it means we can participate too!

In order to take advantage of this free dump weekend individuals must bring proof of residency. The incentive aims to help residents clean up their homes and communities, and in turn, decrease the amount of illegal dumping in the area.

Here’s some quick info that Waste Management wants everyone to know:

Acceptable Household Appliances: refrigerators, hot water heaters, stoves,  washers/dryers, and dishwashers.

Acceptable Bulky Waste: sofas, chairs, mattresses, and box springs.

WM Transfer Station is located at : 1390 E. Commercial Row Reno, NV 89512

Hours of operation are: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 6:00pm, Saturday: 6:00am – 6:00pm, Sunday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
